As part of a team, oversaw research, purchasing and installation of a model apartment. Shopped for trims, furniture and accessories/fixtures.  Created client schemes and maintained resource library.

June 2006          On the Class of 2001 Council, organized nationwide social events, maintained class website, and assisted at Alumni Association events. As Reunion Chair, planned a four day, multi-event weekend for over 150 attendees.

Summer 2001   ISDGM – Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, Intern                                                  Venice, Italy

                                Developed a computer model of dissolved organic carbon in the Adriatic Sea taking into account settling and aging of carbon. Modified pre-existing code to create a more realistic model of carbon’s interaction with sea life.

June 2001        Responsibilities of cashier included making and serving coffee drinks, stocking shelves, and maintaining a cash drawer. As Purchasing Manager, researched new products and negotiated prices with vendors. Tracked inventories and placed weekly replenishment orders. Assisted with designing counter layout, selecting materials, and optimizing shelving during renovations.

 

Summer 2000   Ford Motor Company, Associate Research Engineer                                                  Dearbon, MI

                                Located and quantified the use of PVC and Hexavalent Chromium in Ford vehicles. Established benchmark procedures for analysis of vehicle lines and substance-of-concern measurement techniques. Created a phase-out plan involving material alternatives and supplier relations. Established a recycling strategy for the TH!NK Neighbor.

                        Developed a method for cartographic data interpolation and produced maps of environmental data in the Venice Lagoon. Constructed computer programs that performed calculations on large data sets. Created a web-based display of mapped conditions and updated a web page for an international environmental assessment program.
